Early Robin Hood Thoughts

Now that we've been given our first look at Russell Crowe as Robin Hood (with gray highlights, no less. Please.), we've been forced to think about this movie again. So, here are some early (early, early, early) thoughts:

1. Russell plays both Robin Hood and Nottingham. And sure, there are some great theories out there as to why, but I honestly don't know if I can take two-plus hours of people constantly remarking on how similar they look. It'll be like when Boston Legal used to constantly break down the fourth wall. It was irritating and not nearly as funny as they thought it was.
   
2. When was the last time Russell Crowe was in a bona fide hit? No, seriously, I'm curious.
3. It's weird, but I kinda miss the preternatural green tights.
   
4. Okay, okay. If both Cate and Russell are on, and Ridley Scott pulls it together...this could be good.
   
5. Why is Russell wasting his time learning how to shoot a bow and arrow when hotel courtesy phones hurt that much more?
